The BEC Celtics U13G was part of BERGEN ESSEX CELTIC SC which formed in the Fall of 2008. As the club’s first team, then the U10 Girls (who are now U13G) began training in the winter of 2009 and entered its first JAGS season in the Spring of 2009. The clubs’ founders, John Jamieson, Pat Callaghan, Glenn Livingstone and Dominique Perez credit their Irish roots and family connections in forging the club’s name. The BEC Celtics U13G roster has players who hail from many parts of Northern New Jersey. We currently have players from Clifton, Glen Ridge, Fair Lawn, Allendale, HoHoKus, Park Ridge, Sleepy Hollow (NY), and Upper Saddle River just to name a few of our players’ hometowns. Both the counties of Bergen and Essex have always been equally represented.

Later, in the Summer of 2010, BERGEN ESSEX CELTIC SC ‘moved’ its BEC Celtics, to the NJ STALLIONS ACADEMY based in Clifton, NJ. General Manager, Rich Gentile, a long time supporter of BERGEN ESSEX CELTIC SC, met with the founders of BEC and invited BEC Celtics to become a part of the NJ STALLIIONS’ organization. Most importantly, the BEC Celtics and the NJ STALLIONS ACADEMY share the approach and philosophy toward developing young players in an intimate atmosphere. NJ STALLIONS ACADEMY, headed by GM, Rich Gentile and its owner Nino Lupi, bring decades of experience in running a successful soccer organization in the state of New Jersey. BERGEN ESSEX CELTIC, LLC is still a small but growing independent soccer organization, and will continue to seek out opportunities within youth soccer in New Jersey in hopes of replicating the success it has had with the BEC Celtics U13G.
