Frederick Cup 2009, Kirkwood DE, U11 Girls Makes it to FINALS!

In a very hard fought weekend of tournament play, BEC’s U11 Girls, made it to the Finals at the Frederick Cup on Columbus Day weekend in Delaware and lost to the PREDATORS of PA by the score of 2-1. The first day of the tournament the girls played the PREDATORS to a 1-1 tie, then in the 2nd game vs the Development Academy team from WEST-MONT PA, played WEST-MONT to a 2-2 tie. The morning game on Day 2 produced a 4-2 victory over a very tough team from HOCKESSIN, DE. The final then became a rematch against the PREDATORS where the BEC girls really competed well in an effort to get their first Championship win at a Premier tournament. The coaching staff was very pleased with the effort. Having only 13 players available, the players showed tremendous heart in the tournament. Coach Meredith Rooney was very pleased to see the team beginning to click on all cylinders, especially with the long trip to Delaware, and fighting thru being short handed at the event.
