After Only 5 months since being formed, the BEC U10 Girls ended its Inaugural JAGS season with a very respectable final record of 3 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw. The girls have seen excellent results not only in league play, but also in tournament play. Here are some of the highlights: Semi-Finalist in NJ INDOOR STATE CUP (playing up U11 age group and losing to the eventual winner: Holmdel Stallions), Good performances at the FC DELCO PLAYERS CUP, including a great effort against the ALBERTSON FURY, MCLEAN, and WEST-MONT PA (Development Academy Teams, and PA State Cup Winner, respectively), and U11 CHAMPIONS at the RED BULLS CUP at Giants Stadium. Already the coaches and players are looking ahead to the beginning of our FALL 2009 Program. The most important feature of this coming Fall: REGULAR PRACTICE SESSIONS!! Most of our players who were “double carded” this Spring playing in the Northern Counties League on their respective teams, are returning to BEC this Fall and are joining Full Time. Additionally, the coaching staff has added 3 very talented new players, and will be finalizing the roster very soon! ** The players and coaches want to thank everyone supporting BEC for helping to bolster the team’s confidence this Spring. CONGRATULATIONS GIRLS! WELL DONE!

In what was the toughest game to be in for the BEC U10 Girls, the team lost its final JAGS game of its Inaugural Season this year to PDA by the score of 6-0. Against the best team in the bracket, PDA O’Reilly, what finally became evident to the BEC Coaching Staff was 2 very important things: the girls played a “superior” team in PDA, a team whose style BEC hopes to aspire to in the future, and the BEC’s lack of regular practice sessions finally caught up with the girls in this game. What the coaching staff saw against a great team like PDA was terrific “teamwork”. Although it was tough at times for the players to come up against a team that executed so well, the players were reminded that as BEC grows its program, their experience will rise. The girls have had a terrific run in its first Spring JAGS season. Playing the best team as its last game of the season has only gotten them hungrier to get better down the road.

The BEC U10 Girls played the Elite Soccer Charge (aka ESA) and lost their first JAGS’ game by a score of 2-1. The game overall was very evenly matched. At halftime, BEC was down 2-0. But as the 2nd half began, and after a strong caution to the girls to raise their intensity by the BEC Coaching Staff, the girls delivered by keeping the ball in the ESA half for most of the second half. The U10 Girls overall managed to get off 7 Shots/ 4 of them On Goal. The 7 shots were taken by 4 Different BEC players. 2 Corner kicks were taken by the BEC girls, 1 of which became an Assist for the girls’ only goal. Additionally, one Free Kick was awarded that hit the top crossbar. Several offensive crosses were executed, giving the BEC forwards opportunities that were only inches and in one case a foot away from a ‘header’ opportunity for the equalizer. Although it was a loss in the standings, the BEC coaches were very pleased with their effort, which was sustained in the 2nd half and continued all the way until the final seconds where BEC had offensive opportunities in the ESA box.
