The U10 Girls saw the toughest competition they’ve seen since the beginning of BEC. The players saw 3 opponents: The U10 Girls from Mclean, the U10 Team from West Mont PA, and finally the U10 Albertson Fury team, regarded as the #1 team in the age group in the country. BEC managed a 4-0 win over the Development Academy squad from Mclean, then in the afternoon match against the PA State Cup Winner in West Mont, lost by a score of 3-1. In the 3rd match on the 2nd day, the BEC U10 squad fought hard against the Albertson Fury; accepted a 2-1 score at halftime only to eventually lose the game 5-1. What the coaching staff was most pleased about the tournament was their willingness to keep fighting against more experienced teams. Most of all, the BEC staff feel that the tournament was a positive experience in terms of their development as the girls were able to really see what well trained teams can do. The players of course were disappointed that they were unable to make the Sunday semi-final, but the BEC Coaches have reassured them that for a team that has only been together for 4 months, their performance showed immense promise and potential.

In an exciting Final at Giants Stadium, the U10 Girls defeated the U11 JPSA Academy team from Putnam County by the score of 1-0. Playing on a tight field, the players fought hard against the older squad and held their own physically. In the closing minute of play, the BEC forwards were able to get a volley off a corner kick to put the team ahead and take the Final. Most importantly, however, was not so much the win, but the time the players had on the field in Giants Stadium during the winners walk around the field, and all the excitement during the Tailgate festivities the team had in the parking lot. Afterwards, the girls sat as a team to watch the Red Bulls play the Houston Dynamo to a 1-1 draw. Please check back in to our gallery for some great Photos from the day!

The BEC U10 Girls met a tough physical opponent against the Wall Soccer Club, the Wall Galaxy, and played them to a 1-1 draw this past Saturday. At half time, BEC was ahead 1-0. As the second half drew on, both teams fought back and forth. Both with chances to go ahead. The BEC U10 Girls had opportunities but in the end, did not see the ball at the back of the net resulting in the 1-1 draw. The competition continues to get tougher each week. Equally challenging in the upcoming matches will be the ESA squad from Franklin Lakes, and BEC will end its Inaugural season in June against the tough team from PDA. 2/3rds through the Season the BEC Coaching Staff is very proud of the players effort. And for a team that has only been training together since January of this year, a total of only 4 plus months, the coaches are very pleased with their enthusiasm and their results so far. The BEC Girls are now 3-0-1 in JAGS play.

The BEC U10 Girls squad earned their 3rd JAGS League win over the NJSA Sting U10 Girls by a score of 7-1. The BEC U10 Girls played an energetic game from beginning to end as they upped their JAGS Spring record to 3 Wins, 0 Losses, 0 Ties. Against the talented Academy team from the New Jersey Soccer Academy (aka: NJSA), the BEC U10 Girls set the tone early and kept up the pressure on NJSA Sting throughout the game. The BEC squad managed another balanced scoring effort that found themselves in the end with 7 goals, scored by 5 different players. Most importantly, the BEC U10 Girls kept up a sustained defensive effort against a seasoned team.
