Only a short 10 minute drive from the dome in Montclair. Jim Dandy’s is a very casual place that is very kid friendly. Directions will be emailed and handed out at training as well. Most of you have RSVP’d. Please try and make it, even if it’s only for an hour or so. We will be there starting from 3:15pm until at least 5:00pm. A good chance to sit down with the coaches and trainers and pick their brains!

The U10 Girls had a productive second day of training on Saturday. Two of many important aspects in their development were addressed: 1) Warm-Up Regimen/ ACL Injury Prevention 2) Communication. Coach Rob Leather implemented a 15 minute warm-up regimen that stressed the importance of core muscle and joint exercises that FIFA has highlighted as “crucial” especially for the female athlete, in preventing injury. Communication, and “DEMANDING THE BALL” was also emphasized throughout the 2-hour session, and will continue to be an important part of the coaching staff’s approach towards improving the girls’ performance. Let’s get the girls to use their “Voices”!!

The players have reunited for the first time since the Summer Select 2008 Season as the BERGEN ESSEX CELTIC SOCCER CLUB. And some new faces have been added as well! Coaches Callaghan, Livingstone & Trainer Rob Leather ran a vigorous first practice. The BEC U10 Girls hit the ground running on their first Saturday of the Winter. The first day of this new team; with new training shirts and logos to boot was exciting for everyone to watch. The theme of the first day was ball movement, ball movement, ball movement.
